A few hundred years ago everyone was a scientist, you know, and everyone was an artist. When I say everyone, of course I mean everyone who’s anyone. The Cultured Public, the Educated, you know the sort. The sort that were Learn-ed, that Traveled, the kind that Explored, you know. A Scientist was an artist then – a certain draughtsmanship was required, an ability to render surface and detail. To describe accurately that which the eye surveyed, scrutinized, observed. To describe it accurately enough so that it could become common axiom – an agreement amongst everyone. You know who I’m talking about, Yourself included, of course.
