I am honoured to read a piece I wrote in response to this beautiful temporal and earthly work by @clodaghemoe and @donal_lally – it was a gift to be invited into this process and amongst these people, plants, places and materials.
I was invited to write an essay, but there was also an understanding of the openness of that form — that it is a way of trying, a way of exploring lived experience. What came out of my engagement with Clodagh and Dónal’s work is a fiction of lived experience, and in that sense it is all completely true.

On Sunday 29th September A L T A R will host writer and artist Jessica Foley. It is the last opportunity to visit and spend time with A L TA R in the beautiful garden cemtery of Golden bridge.
A L T A R explores how we, the living and the dead, are intrinsically connected with the natural world.
A L T A R draws on the material and essence of plant life, creating a gathering space between the interior of the 18th-century Mortuary Chapel and the canopy of the ancient Beech Tree.
A L T A R is a site-responsive intervention for Goldenbridge Cemetery by artist @clodaghemoe Emoe and @donal_lally.
